There are so many ways to get involved and give back to your community. It is a great way to meet new people, be humbled for what you have experienced in your own life and practice empathy for someone who might be in a tough spot.
I am excited to work with this incredible program and donate my skill as a photographer to Dress for Success®. This global organization’s mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
Recently, I spent an afternoon in the Chicago headquarters and set up a pop-up photography studio in the middle of the dressing room. We had Anthony doing makeup for our clients and I captured the personality of the beautiful women in front of a classic bright white background. I chose this lighting setup because I wanted the images to be bright and clean and I think it makes the natural beauty stand out without any distractions.
It feels great to help someone see themselves in a new way. It is amazing how powerful a great portrait can be. Everyone walked away with a new found confidence and said “I look like I could be the Boss!”. The clients will use these headshots to create their LinkedIn profile as they search for their next career move. Dress for Success has so many amazing programs to help women get back into the workforce and I am honored to play a small part in support of these women.
